Just back from the shop and that's it, decision made and I have ordered my wedding dress. I have gone for the more sensible choice which is the light weight chiffon dress. Thankfully though everyone that came along (there was 6 of us) actually preferred this dress so I was quite pleased.
I have set myself a bit of a target as well. I have ordered my dress in a couple of sizes smaller than I am at the minute. This is for 2 reasons - one because obviously it makes me slim down before the wedding. The second is purely because I am tight. If I had ordered the dress in the size I am at the minute then I would have had to pay 10% extra so by ordering the slightly smaller size I actually get a discount. I have been sensible though and realistic about how much weight I can lose before the wedding - I only need to lose 4 inches around my tummy to fit into the dress so that should be achievable in 9 months.
David & I are heading out for a walk now to start the weight loss battle. Finally something proper to work towards - just the wedding wasn't obviously enough.

Dress Shopping Today
Just about 1 hour to go before I buy my wedding dress.
I am still undecided about which of the two dresses I am going to choose. I am leaning more towards one dress than the other - but the one I am moving away from is the dream, princess dress that if I was getting married here would be picked in a heartbeat. However I do need to be slightly practical about the dress as I have to transport it on a plane as my hand luggage.
Will let you know what happens when I get back from shopping.

Bridal Shopping Tomorrow
Tomorrow afternoon I am going to spend the biggest sum of money on one item of clothing that I have ever spent in my life.
I am going to order my wedding dress.
How scared am I?!?
I still haven't fully decided on which dress I am going to order either.
I am currently swaying between 2 dresses - and they couldn't be more different.
Thankfully though the dress shop has them both so I am going to try them both on again tomorrow and with my small panel of experts (there a total of 6 of us going tomorrow) I will decide what one to order. I am also taking my shoes and my borrowed veil with me to get a good idea of what it is going to look like.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Weekend Frolics
So, I am sitting here planning my weekend for next week.
Considering we lose an hour with the clocks going forward it has to be my most hectic weekend probably this whole year so far.
On Friday night I am hosting a Virgin Vie party in the house, and going by the verbal RSVPs I have received there is going to be a good number of people coming over. My friend from school is the one selling all the stuff so I want her to get a good commission, she is travelling over from Kelty in Fyfe to do the party.
On Saturday morning David & I as well as our mums are going into Edinburgh for the wedding fayre at the Corn Exchange. Last Year me and Michelle (one of my bridesmaids) went and had a great time so this year it will be good to show it to David and our mums. This is also the first time that David's mum has gone with us to a wedding fayre so it will be cool.
Saturday night I am going to an Ann Summers party at Michelle's house. So another night out and another shopping experience.
This week I am going to get a new TV stand from Ikea. I saw it yesterday and the more I think about it the more I decide that it will really fit in the living room and work better than the stand we have at the minute.

It's Friday..... Next It's The Weekend...
How fab has the weather been today?
Yeah okay, it is cold (very very cold) but it is lovely and sunny. Proper sunshine and blue skies. Who would have thought it after the last few days?
Today I have had a proper pamper day, been and had my hair cut which was great. I last had my hair cut in October (I had to cancel my appointment in December due to being too busy cooking Christmas dinner) so it was great today to go and sit and chill out for about 40 minutes. I love getting my hair washed at the hairdressers. I love the scalp massage you get when they are applying the conditioner. I went from having a mullet-style cut (well it was after the previous cut had grown out) to a slinky, long bob style which I really like. My hairdresser Michael is great. He is about the only person I trust to cut my hair without having to oversee every movement that they make. There was only one other hairdresser that before Michael that I could literally just say "cut my hair, I am fed up of it" and end up with a great cut, nothing which I could have expected either.
Tonight David and I are going shopping to Ikea. We are going to get a computer table and some other stuff for the spare bedroom before we have people over to stay tomorrow night. Looking forward to having everyone over tomorrow. David is going out to his friends for the night so it will truly be a girls night, and we are going to have fun. Then the excitement builds towards Sunday when we are all going to the wedding fayre. Looking forward to this weekend.

Week 1 complete
So, week 1 of Lighterlife is complete. Although there has been a few bumps in the road this week, and I haven't been fully on the plan I have managed to lose 6 pounds this week. I am really chuffed with myself, and now definitely feel that I can manage the rest of the plan without having to resort to conventional food again.
Today we were to write down our 3 main goals, and be really specific about them. Here are mine:
1. To go to the wedding dress shop in Bathgate and try on the Maggie Sottero gown that I really like (wont put the name here in case David reads it). I want to try on the dress in their sample size, which is a 12 (or a normal 10) and I want to do this by October 31st.
2. By December 1st I want to have my police application form filled in, and sent off.
3. By My birthday in May I want to have lost 4 stone.
Today after I got back from Lighterlife we went up to the town centre to try and get some new clothes for the gym. David managed to get a couple of pairs of shorts but I didn't get anything. As usual the shops don't stock items in my size in a petite. I can get clothes that fit my waist, but there are miles to long or they have the correct length but I might fit into them in about 3 months when I have lost a few stone.
I really want to fit into the wedding dress. I know that I can order the dress in any size but I dont want to wear a marquee. The dress I think I want is very delicate, and wouldn't want to strain the dress with me bulging out of it. God, Lighterlife better work.

10 days and counting...
So, today is the official 10 days count down. We only have 10 days until it is Christmas day. That means only 9 more shopping days to go. Have you got your shopping done yet?
Now normally at this point of the year I am completely paniced as I haven't yet started my Christmas shopping yet and not normally getting paid until the 21st of the month means that I normally have just 3 days to do all my Christmas shopping but not this year. Nope this year I am completely organised, well apart from the food shopping - and the presents for the in-laws. We know what we are buying the in-laws but we have not got the presents yet due to running out of cash this weekend because of the purchase of the Wii Fit that I bought on Thursday.
On another note, how good was this weekend? I had the best time, sleeping, eating, socialising with friends I hadn't seen for ages. My friends all met up in Edinubrgh and we swapped christmas presents, ate a really good Spaghetti Bolognese (which was meant to have been cooked by Lea, but was actually cooked by me in Lea's kitchen) and we started to watch Mamma Mia, however that was dumped when we remembered that it was the final of the X Factor. Did you see it? So we watched that then all headed home, giggly from all the chat that was had. On Sunday we stayed in bed sleeping until after lunchtime. Then it was round to the in-laws so I could put up the Christmas tree. Then everyone came round here for dinner, so it was full house for the evening which was really good.
I love weekends like that.

14 Days To Go......
Okay, sorry for the totally unoriginal names for these blogs but hey it is nearly Christmas, and it only comes round once a year and it is exciting. I have been out Christmas shopping again today and have finally managed to get my hands on a Wii Fit. I have been trying to purchase one for a few months now - and until this morning I was resigning myself to buying one online for about £120-£130 plus postage and packing but thanks to an impromptu shopping trip this morning, suggested by my mum I was finally able to get one for £80. It was lucky that I was actually able to buy it as the sign in the window of the shop advertising that they were back in stock was about the size of a postage stamp.
I was also able to get the last of David's Christmas presents in, well that was until we went to Asda tonight and he saw the DVD of the new Batman film and so I bought it for him as another part of his Christmas. He is going shopping next weekend for my presents, once I get paid. Cheeky I know, him using my wages to buy my Christmas presents but I used all of his wages to buy his presents so it is only fair.
Have you done all of your christmas shopping? What imaginative presents have you bought for your friends and family? We are going for the old, original vouchers for most of the family this year - got no working brain cells to think of exciting presents for them.
